On May 2, 2007, The Maytree Foundation, during its third annual leadership conference, convened over 400 civic, philanthropic and community leaders from Canada and beyond to participate in various workshops; topics included diversity in governance, tools for social change, understanding the next generation of immigrants, and strengthening urban citizenship.  Judith Bell, president of PolicyLink, presented E-Advocacy: New Technology for Social Change (pdf), which provides an in-depth look at e-advocacy tools and tactics, positions e-advocacy within a larger traditional (offline) advocacy context, and offers a mix of case studies used to engage supporters and push for policy change. The Canadian organizations that were present included Autism Ontario, the Ontario Council for International Cooperation, and the Toronto District School Board.
