Radhika K. Fox is a senior associate at PolicyLink, a national research, communications, capacity-building, and advocacy organization. PolicyLink is committed to Lifting Up What Works®, with a mission of advancing a new generation of policies to achieve economic and social equity, based on the wisdom, voice, and experience of local leaders who are shaping successful solutions to national problems.

PolicyLink works with diverse local, state, and national partners to ensure that the issues of economic and social equity receive the highest priority in addressing major policy issues, including: urban sprawl and smart growth, reinvestment in low-income communities, bridging the digital divide, eliminating racial health disparities, and developing leaders for policy change. PolicyLink is a leading advocate of equitable development, a comprehensive approach that includes the fair distribution of affordable housing throughout regions and equitable public investment.

Fox coordinates the PolicyLink Core Cities Initiative, which is focused on bringing greater attention, resources, and equitable policy change to older urban centers in America. She works closely with community organizations, public officials, foundations, and civic leaders to advance state and local policy change and extend the national dialogue on equitable renewal across America. Fox is also a core member of the PolicyLink team focused on promoting the equitable distribution of affordable housing across regions. She provides technical assistance, training, and policy development support to local and state coalitions across the country, to build the capacity of local change agents who are advocating for economic and social equity in their communities.

Fox conducts research and writes about issues related to affordable housing, economic development, and regional growth and development.  She is principal author of Shared Prosperity, Stronger Regions:  An Agenda for Rebuilding America’s Older Core Cities; Expanding Housing Opportunity in Washington DC:  The Case for Inclusionary Zoning; and Regional Equity and Smart Growth:  Opportunities for Advancing Social and Economic Justice in America, a translation paper published by the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities. (These and other PolicyLink articles are available at www.policylink.org) Other articles and studies by Fox have appeared in a variety of academic and general circulation publications.
