Nisha Balaram, Program Coordinator, provides programmatic support for the Center for Health Equity and Place through research analysis, budget management, and editorial feedback. Currently, Nisha works on issues of police violence and systemic bias, movement building in the public health field, and the operationalization of health equity to build community wealth and sustainability. She has previously worked as a policy coordinator for the Greenlining Institute and as a proposition campaign manager for Greenlining Action PAC. Her op-eds and research have been published in Capitol Weekly and various academic journals. In her spare time, she runs a self-help psychology blog, plays violin competitively, and serves as a board member for Sustainable Roots.
