Support Our Work
The face of America is changing, and the nation's fate hinges on how we react to – and invest in – that change. Across the country, leaders from the business, nonprofit, and government sectors are recognizing that inequality is weighing down our national psyche. Thanks to our efforts and those of our partners, they are beginning to understand that equity—just and fair inclusion in a society in which all can participate and prosper—has become an economic imperative in addition to a moral one. And this insight is inspiring a wave of enterprising strategies to create a new type of economic growth model that is driven by equity.
That is why we need your support at this critical time.
PolicyLink is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to bringing about the policy, social, cultural, and market changes needed to build an inclusive economy and restore American prosperity. But we cannot achieve this mission without financial support from people like you. By making a financial contribution to our work, you will also be making a valuable investment in America’s future.
Investments in PolicyLink over the past two years have enabled us to leverage more than a billion dollars in federal resources for distressed urban, rural and tribal areas across the country. I am proud of the accomplishments of our staff, as highlighted in our 2012 Year in Review.
With your partnership, PolicyLink will continue to press for policies that create opportunities for everyone to participate in and co-create a robust, resilient 21st century economy. Our comprehensive strategy includes:
· Advancing an economic policy agenda that spurs equity-driven growth
· Fostering inclusive and environmentally-sustainable regional economies
· Creating a continuum of education and support services for children
· Increasing access to fresh, healthy food in low-income neighborhoods
· Catalyzing transportation funding that create jobs and connect communities to services
· Promoting policies that improve the health and success of boys and men of color
You can help make this happen. With your support we will advocate for those hit first and worst by the Great Recession. Your gift will make a difference in our ability to address the overarching issues of racial and economic inequity that have left communities of color burdened with high poverty, failing schools, poor health, and crumbling infrastructure.
I am so grateful for your involvement in our growing movement for equity in America.
Founder and CEO, PolicyLink
P.S. Our message that equity is the superior growth model is gaining momentum among advocates, practitioners, funders, researchers, and policymakers. A focus on equity, rather than being a divisive issue, has the potential to unite the nation around a common vision—one that is win, win, win—good for the people, good for the economy, and good for the nation. This is our moment, but only if we seize it.
