Rachel Gichinga, Manager, Office of the Founder in Residence, supports the work of Angela Glover Blackwell. Prior to joining PolicyLink, Rachel managed developer relations for Intel East Africa. During her time at Intel, she helped roll out programs that trained over 2,000 software and hardware developers in East and South Africa, and funded women in tech programs in Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria. She also built the framework for an in-house health tech accelerator program at Seven Seas Technologies Company and co-founded a startup that partnered with the Nike Foundation and the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa to develop multimedia community advocacy and engagement strategies in Kenya. She was a former graduate fellow at the New York City Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity, an Acumen East Africa Fellow, and a New York University Social Sector Leadership Diversity Fellow. Rachel holds a master’s degree in urban planning from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service. She thrives in vibrant urban environments and is committed to ensuring that cities protect their most vulnerable residents.
