Securing Our Housing Futures: Tenant Protections for Federally-Backed Homes

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) just announced a Request for Input (RFI) that can be leveraged for our collective efforts to expand protections to millions of tenants across the country. Too many renters experience housing instability due to the power imbalances in our housing system, through which landlords have the ability to create and perpetuate uninhabitable living conditions, displace tenants from their homes, and retaliate in harmful ways when tenants try to exercise their right to safe and affordable housing. This dearth of tenant protection policies have allowed racial and economic inequities in our housing system to persist and deepen. This RFI is an opportunity to change that. This webinar shared information about the RFI from FHFA, discussed various tenant protections, and strategized on how to submit your comment to shape policy to achieve our housing futures.
