Kaki Marshall, senior associate, works on promoting housing justice, affordable housing preservation, production, and protection through focused policy, effective planning, and targeted, thoughtful public investments. As part of this effort, Kaki leads the Partnership for the Bay's Future Challenge Grant Fellows program —an effort to address the Bay Area’s affordable housing crisis. The program places 7 fellows in local regional government to advance policies that support anti-displacement and housing security, while reversing growing trends of displacement and homelessness. Before joining PolicyLink Kaki worked throughout the pacific northwest to bring about legislation, research design, policy, and programs to address the root causes of poverty, homelessness, and mass incarceration in historically marginalized communities. Kaki is a board member of the Transgender Gender-Variant Intersex Justice Project, where she is committed to supporting Trans Women of Color leadership in addressing structural violence of the criminal justice system. When Kaki is not at work, they can be found seeking refuge on Mt Tam.
